Yukon Public Schools will be back in session tomorrow.
We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back and returning to our normal routines. We recognize that some neighborhoods and roads may still be challenging in the morning. We encourage families to use their best judgment when deciding what’s right for their students. Your child’s safety remains our top priority.
However, as we resume regular operations, attendance procedures and policies will also return to normal.
Thank you for your continued patience and support this past week. We can’t wait to see our students back in the classroom.

Due to the potential for overnight refreezing on neighborhood roads and sidewalks, Yukon Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Our maintenance team worked tirelessly to prepare our campuses for a return to school, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication. However, many of our families and staff travel from a wide range of neighborhoods and rural areas, where road conditions can vary greatly, especially in the early morning hours. District Leaders spent time driving through various parts of the district this afternoon. While some roads are improving, others remain snow covered.
We know school closures can create challenges for families, and these decisions are never made lightly. Safety always remains our top priority.
At this time, the district is still within its allotted snow days for students, and there will be no need to make up this day. We will continue to monitor our calendar and communicate any updates if needed.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible maintenance team, who have been working tirelessly throughout the day and evening to clear sidewalks and parking lots at each of our school sites. Their dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, and we are extremely grateful for everything they do for our district.

There's nothing better than being able to bring your favorite stuffed animal to school! Yesterday at Central our students had the chance to bring their very own plushie from home. It was so fun getting to see who brought what and why it was special to them. 🧸👏

✈️🌍 The adventure takes off at Surrey Hills Airport! Our students have packed their passports and are jet-setting around the globe—exploring all 7 continents during library time. 📚✨ Here’s to a year full of learning, exploring, and discovery! 🌎❤️
Congratulations to our recent graduates. Today was diploma pick up day- their hard work has paid off and are officially ready to go on their next journey. We are cheering them on!
We had a blast at Invention Camp last week! We used science and innovation to create gadgets, partake in team building, and think outside the box.
Did you know?! The Canadian Flag that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was holding at the OKC Thunder Championship Parade has special ties to Yukon High School?!

After the Championship game, SGA's team started looking for a Canadian Flag he could carry in the parade. With no luck and the parade being too close to have one shipped...SGA's team received a tip that a Yukon High School teacher had one in their classroom! With the help of many, they were able to retrieve the flag from YHS to Shai just in time for the parade! What a special moment!

Our amazing Millers are starting their summer off strong visiting the Book Bus on its first route!! We are so proud of these learners! We hope to see you this summer! ☀️📚❤️
Director of Elementary Education, Mr. Hein, made a special visit to Mrs. Orr’s kindergarten class to read a classic Dr. Seuss book, "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" before summer break! We love seeing our leaders share the joy of reading with our youngest learners. 📚✨
Our YHS Winter Guard held a fundraiser raffle partnered with Kate Myers from Beef for the Bank nonprofit (Lomega FFA). Through their fundraising, they helped donate 100+lbs of beef to the Mana Pantry and also helped raise much needed funds for the Winter Guard program! They helped deliver and organize the beef during their Spring Break. We are so proud of these girls! Way to go, Millers! #YPSProud #GoMillers
