Yukon, Okla., May 6, 2026 – Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma has named its 2026 Gold Award recipients. Molly Adair of Yukon is among 15 Girl Scouts recognized for outstanding leadership and community impact achieved through a hands-on project.
“The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn,” said GSWESTOK CEO Stacy McNeiland Edmonds. ”It acknowledges the passion, creativity and time commitment behind each recipient’s dedication to changing their local communities. By identifying the root cause of an issue and implementing effective action to solve the problem with long-term benefits, these girls are changing the world.”
To support the often-overlooked siblings of pediatric cancer patients, Molly established a dedicated toy closet and resource center at OK Kids Korral. This facility provides free lodging for pediatric patients receiving cancer treatment at the Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and nearby clinics.
Through her project, "Golden Joy," she curated specialized resource packets and letters designed to help siblings navigate the emotional challenges and feelings of isolation that often accompany a family member's treatment.
Gold Award recipients, along with Bronze and Silver Award recipients, were recognized at Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma’s Highest Awards Ceremony on May 2, 2026, at Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City.
