Please join us in congratulating Scott Hein on this new role as Yukon Middle School Head Principal. Scott brings 28 years of experience in Yukon Public Schools, with the majority of his career dedicated to serving middle school students. He began his career teaching at the middle school level and later served as an assistant principal when Lakeview was a middle school. When Lakeview transitioned to an elementary site and later to an intermediate school, Scott served as the head principal. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my three years as Executive Director of Elementary Education. I have been honored and blessed to serve and represent the tremendous leaders, teachers, and support staff at our PK–3 sites. That being said, since taking on this role, I have always missed site-level leadership. My heart is in the schools, working alongside my fellow principals, assistant principals, teachers, specialists, and support staff. My heart is in the hallways, the classrooms, the cafeteria, and welcoming kids off the bus. At this stage in my career I want to do what brings my heart the most joy and fulfillment and I want to work where I feel my impact on students, staff, and our great community can be maximized. This is why I have sought out and accepted the principal position at Yukon Middle School. Our middle school has an incredible team of adults who pour their hearts into our 7th and 8th grade students each and every day. For me this is a return home. It’s a return to the grade levels I taught at the start of my career. It is a return to the role I have enjoyed the most in my 28 years in Yukon: the public school principal. I am extremely excited to join the team at Yukon Middle School. I look forward to helping the team continue its great work for students and also look ahead to working together to find and create new paths to success for our middle school students.”
